LUDLOW 'nearly didn't survive' as hit band Snow Patrol descended on the town for their Live at Ludlow Castle performance this weekend.
In a post shared on Facebook, frontman Gary Lightbody said: "Thank you so much Ludlow Castle.
"What a setting for a show and what a crowd you were. Thank you for the warmest of welcomes and for a hell of a night.
"Your town is extremely beautiful, though the streets are a little narrow for a tour bus. Tudor buildings that have stood for many hundreds of years nearly didn’t survive us.
"But, thankfully (after some very slow and skilful driving), we left the place as pretty as we found it."
He also thanked the evening’s other performers, which included Morgana, The Florentinas, and Corinne Bailey Rae.
Fans have described it as one of the most beautiful concerts they’ve ever been to.
The band took to the stage at Ludlow Castle as part of the Live at Ludlow Castle concert series.
The concert generated overwhelming praise from those in attendance.
Snow Patrol fans took to social media to share their thoughts and to thank the band for a "magical" evening.
Paula Lucas said: "Such an amazing night, Snow Patrol you as always did not disappoint.
"Helen Cooke said: "You were absolutely brilliant.
"Cennin Thomas described the show as beautiful, the crowd as amazing, and Snow Patrol as epic."
Nicky Magee said: "We travelled from Scotland to see you in the area I grew up in.
"Totally worth the hours in the car."
Jo Roberts said: "Brilliant performance, beautiful venue, perfect weather and just the best vibe.
"Thank you, please come again."
Justin Gunn said: "The best night! Thankyou for an amazing show! Chasing cars in that venue with that crowd singing their hearts out (me included!) is now a core memory and one I won't forget.. Awesome evening with you! Thankyou!"
Michelle Warnock said: "I think its the most beautiful concert I have been at.

There was also plenty of praise for the support acts, especially Corinne Bailey Rae.

Other performers set to take to the stage include Tom Grennan, The Streets, Rick Astley, Richard Ashcroft, and Scissor Sisters.
