Residents are being urged to seek support if they are struggling with the rising costs of heating oil.
Shropshire Council has launched a new scheme offering eligible households an average of £300 towards refilling their oil tanks.
The scheme is part of the wider Crisis and Resilience Fund, backed by £758,000 of government funding.
Heather Kidd, leader of Shropshire Council, said: "We may just have had a heatwave – and there’s more hot weather on the way – so people haven’t had their heating on much recently.
"But people need heating oil for cooking and hot water, too.
"My message is simple: heating oil is not just for winter, and neither is heating oil support from the council.
"Fill up your tanks now."
The scheme is managed by the council in partnership with Community Resource.
Eligible residents can apply by calling 0345 678 9012 or visiting the Shropshire Council website.
Support is also available in person at Shropshire Local hubs in Shrewsbury and Ludlow.
Residents not in immediate crisis may be referred to Community Resource for further assistance, including energy advice and access to community energy groups.
