Tractor destroyed by fire in Newcastle-on-Clun field

Shropshire Fire and Rescue confirmed that crews were called out to Newcastle-on-Clun, near Bishop's Castle, after receiving reports of a vehicle fire.

Teams from Clun, Bishop’s Castle, and Shrewsbury were rushed to the scene yesterday afternoon (July 4) to find a vehicle “fully involved” in a fire.

Firefighters confirmed that they worked hard to stop the fire from spreading to surrounding areas.

A spokesperson for Clun Fire Station said: “Yesterday at 3.31pm our crews were alerted to a Large Vehicle Fire in the Newcastle area.

“On arrival, we found one tractor and haybob fully involved in fire.

“Crews worked quickly alongside colleagues from Bishop’s Castle to stop this spreading to the surrounding field.”
