Two councillors have resigned at Ludlow Town Council – with one lasting just a matter of months.
David Ward took over from Beverley Waite on Clee View Ward after the latter resigned at the beginning of the year.
However, he too has now resigned, meaning that a casual vacancy – occurred when a councillor resigns before the end of their term – has arisen.
The deadline for at least 10 electors for the ward to request for an election to be held to fill the vacancy has now expired.
Therefore, if no valid request was received, the town council will instead proceed to co-opt a new councillor as soon as is practicable.
Meanwhile, there is also a casual vacancy for Gallows Bank Ward following the resignation of Ian Scott-Bell.
If anyone wants to hold an election for that seat, the request must be be sent to Returning Officer, Electoral Services, Shropshire Council, The Guildhall, Frankwell Quay, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, SY3 8HQ by June 18.
There is also a seat available at neighbouring Clun Town Council with Chapel Lawn following the resignation of Rowena Bowles.
The vacancy is for the Clun Ward. Anyone who wants an election to be held should put in their request by June 26.
