Ludlow May Fair draws crowds for historic annual celebration

LUDLOW came alive this week as the May Fair returned to the town.

Music, lights and the rumble of rides filled the town centre as the travelling fair rolled into Castle Square.

The May Fair is one of Ludlow’s oldest traditions, with roots stretching back more than 900 years.

Historic records show King John granted the town a charter in the early 13th century, giving permission for annual fairs to be held.
