Shropshire Council is searching for providers to deliver educational visits to Severn Valley Country Park.
The Green Flag Award-winning park in Alveley currently offers an educational programme which is delivered by ranger-led school visits, featuring river studies, pond dipping, minibeast hunts, orienteering, and scavenger hunts.
As demand for the programme rises, the park has announced it is seeking an external provider to deliver the programme from April 2026.
James Owen, Shropshire Council's cabinet member for housing and leisure, acknowledged the growing demand, revealing that between "1,400 to 1,600" pupils annually have visited Severn Valley as part of the school programme.
He said: "However, the success of the programme means that we must now look for an external provider to deliver this programme for us, and ensure that it continues to go from strength to strength."
The council seeks a written proposal from interested organisations outlining their business ethos, proposed enhancements for the park's programme, a financial offer, proof of professional accreditation and insurance, risk management measures, and arrangements for safeguarding and emergency planning.
The deadline is 4pm on Monday, December 22.
