A taste of Greece has been served up in a new chef-led community dining project.
Hands Together Ludlow launched the initiative, Borrow My Chef, at a recent community lunch in late October.
The charity supports people experiencing isolation, financial hardship, or poor health, and runs a wide range of social and wellbeing projects in the area.
Borrow My Chef is designed to connect restaurants and food businesses with the wider community, giving them a chance to share their culinary skills in a friendly, communal setting.
Julia Doig, food coordinator at Hands Together Ludlow, said: "Borrow my Chef is all about connecting our local eateries and restaurants with the community.
"We’re so grateful to Athena for bringing their Greek flavours to our first event – it was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who came."
Each week, Hands Together Ludlow hosts two community lunches, offering residents the opportunity to socialise and enjoy a home-cooked two-course meal for just £3.50.
The first Borrow My Chef lunch featured Athena Greek Taverna, with chefs Linda and David serving up a traditional Greek moussaka, salad, and an orange syrup sponge dessert with whipped cream.
The meal was well received by all who attended, with diners praising both the food and the spirit of collaboration behind the project.
Hands Together Ludlow is now inviting other restaurants and food businesses to take part in the scheme.
