A CLAY club is inviting communities to get creative and connect through hands-on workshops.
The Community Clay Club scheme, led by social enterprise Storymine, is based in Ludlow and South Shropshire and aims to boost wellbeing and reduce loneliness through clay modelling sessions.
The group is currently crowdfunding to launch 16 workshops in rural areas, hoping to reach around 200 people.
Councillor Alex Wagner, Shropshire Council’s deputy leader and cabinet member for communities, said: "When people are busy in their daily lives it can be easy to forget how creating art boosts self-esteem and a sense of accomplishment.
"The Community Clay Club can make a real difference and help more people come together around this in their local communities."
The project has already secured a £5,000 pledge from Shropshire Council and its partners through Crowdfund Shropshire, leaving it less than £1,800 short of its £9,666 goal.
The workshops are designed to be inclusive and accessible, providing a welcoming space for creativity and conversation in areas where social isolation is a particular challenge.
Councillor Wagner encouraged residents to lend their support.
