Police officers across Bishop's Castle have launched a plain-clothes operation to tackle drug-related activity.

This initiative, which will be regularly carried out, involves officers in unmarked cars and on foot.

They will blend into the public to identify those involved in drug offences.

This allows officers to act quickly against individuals involved in drug-related activity, who are not usually spotted by marked units.

Calvin Brown, a Police Community Support Officer for West Mercia Police, said: "On 26/02/2025 several officers from Bishop's Castle, Craven Arms, and Church Stretton conducted a plain clothes operation around Bishop's Castle Town to target drug-related activity.

"Officers spoke with several individuals and stopped other individuals who they believed may be concerned in drug-related activity. This will be a regular initiative going forward to identify and target those individuals who are involved in drug-related activity."

People can report drug-related information to West Mercia Police.
