A Ludlow Christmas shop has announced it will be closing its doors after two years of trading.
The all-year-round festive shop, A Miracle on King Street, announced its upcoming closure in a statement on their Facebook page.
The business initially said that they had made the “hard decision” to close the shop on September 21, and that they’ve “loved being part of Ludlow and all its history”, but now that date has been extended to December 23 due to "unforeseen circumstances"
The shop is now preparing to sell its last decorations, adding that they’ve created fond memories for “all generations of families” along with filling “thousands of Christmas trees with some beautiful decorations worldwide”.
The shop, which says it converted some of “the biggest bah humbugs” added:
“We would firstly like to thank Sarah who has been with us from day one creating fabulous decorations that adorn trees in all corners of the globe and looking after Miracle for us and being a fabulous member of staff… Thank you so much.
“Santa that has made some glorious memories for parents and their children you really were the real Santa.
“And thank you to our customers whether they be local or visitors from all over that have supported us.
“We hope you have lots of fabulous Christmases in the future and always remember where you got those cute lil decorations from on your travels”.
The locally loved Christmas shop was opened in 2022, aiming to offer an “eclectic mix” of Christmas decorations within its "Aladdin's cave of finds".
The festive business also offered a Santa’s grotto every year, which saw many local children and their families flock to the shop.
The upcoming loss of not just the shop but its festive activities hit many hard, with one customer commenting: "I don’t think my kids are going to believe any other Santa visit after the amazing ones we have had the past 2 years!".
Another commenter on the post added: "This is so sad. We always enjoyed our visits and your Santa was the real one.
"Thank you for some lovely memories".
