A SCHOOL is thanking its community as it focuses on further enhancing and embedding the positive changes already achieved in the months after their inspection.

Tenbury High Ormiston Academy received a “glowing” Ofsted report with inspectors judging it to be Good in all areas, only confirming the success of what inspectors said were “impressive and significant” changes that the school has made over the last year.

Amongst the many areas of success noted in the Ofsted report, inspectors praised the principal, leadership team, Trust and governors’ creation of a well-run school which pupils want to attend; the warm relationships between staff and the pleasantly-behaved pupils; the inclusivity of the high school and the providing of interventions for Students with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities, and the well-designed curriculum that ensures all pupils study a broad range of subjects, which the teachers’ good subject knowledge helps to implement.

The academy’s career offer was praised as a particular strength, with pupils well informed about their next steps, and the staff are appreciative of the good quality professional development they receive from the school and the Trust.

In addition to the Trust, governors and trustees have supported and challenged the school effectively during a period of “rapid improvement” and are dedicated to continuing such advancements.

Commenting on the Ofsted report, principal of Tenbury High Ormiston Academy, Vicki Dean, said how “thrilled” they were for Ofsted to rate the academy “Good in all areas”.

“The outcome of the report, and the many positive findings noted, really are testament to the hard work, commitment and effort that has gone into making our academy the special place that it is.”

Ms Dean was also “particularly pleased to see the warm, inclusive and positive culture of our school community highlighted in the report.”

Paul Hyde, Education Director (North and West) at Ormiston Academies Trust said the school have worked “exceptionally hard to receive their ‘good’ results and how the trust “will continue to work closely with the academy’s senior leadership team, and to support all its staff with continued development opportunities, as Tenbury High School continues on this very positive trajectory”.
