PLANS to convert a Tenbury shop storeroom into a house have been turned down by planners.
The application to convert the building in Westview terrace into a two-storey, two bed home was submitted to Malvern Hills District Council earlier this year.
A design and access statement said the property was previously used as a storeroom for GH Bowkett Ltd, but is no longer in use.
The proposed development would convert the single-storey building into a two-storey house with lounge, kitchen, and toilet on the ground floor and two bedrooms with en-suite showers on the first floor, with a dormer extension to the roof to create the space to house the shower rooms.
But planners said the dormer window would be "incongruous" and harm the street scene, while overlooking windows would cause an "unacceptable" loss of privacy for neighbours.
There was also insufficient information submitted regarding noise nuisance from adjacent rooftop condensing units.
The application was refused.
