ONE of the stars of hit TV quiz show, The Chase, is coming to Tenbury.

Jenny Ryan, who plays the role of the Vixen on the ITV1 programme, will be bringing her 'Out of the Box' show to the Regal at 7.30pm on Saturday, October 5.

It will consist of an evening of song, storytelling and even some showbiz secrets.

Ryan showcased her singing talents on X Factor: Celebrity in 2019 and blew away the judges.

Nicole Scherzinger said: 'extraordinary. A diva voice', while commented, 'Jenny - like...what?!'

The 41-year-old's first quiz appearance was on University Challenge, where she helped the University of Leeds reach the semi-finals in 2003.

She also appeared on Mastermind in 2006, choosing the American television series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer as her specialist subject.

Ryan later found success on Only Connect as a member of the Gamblers team, which won the third series of the show in 2010.

Her big breakthrough though came in 2015 when she joined The Chase. She was recommended for the show by fellow chaser, Anne Hegerty, who had competed on the same quiz team, with Ryan serving as captain.

Her nickname on the show, the Vixen, is in reference to her red hair, freckles and ponytail. Presenter, Bradley Walsh came up with the name and the producers liked it since 'vixens are notoriously clever and cunning'.

She is also referred to as 'the Bolton Brainiac', paying homage to her hometown.

In 2017, Ryan appeared alongside fellow chasers Anne Hegerty, Shaun Wallace and Mark Labbett on Let's Sing and Dance for Comic Relief, where they won the competition, performing a Wizard of Oz medley.

The following year, she launched a podcast called 'Fingers on Buzzers' alongside comedian Lucy Porter, before further TV appearances came in 2019. As well as appearing on The X Factor: Celebrity, Ryan was also a contestant on Celebrity MasterChef.

Tickets for her show are priced at £25, or you can get a meet and greet package for £50. The latter consists of a premium seated ticket, an exclusive meet and greet with Jenny Ryan and a photo opportunity.
