A BMW driver from Ludlow has been fined by magistrates after he was caught speeding on a busy main road.

Max Christopher Greatrix entered a guilty plea to one count of exceeding a 40 miles per hour speed limit in contravention of a local traffic order when he appeared before magistrates in Worcester in January.

The court heard from the prosecutor that the 28-year-old had been caught breaking the limit while behind the wheel of a BMW in a 40 miles per hour zone on the A443 at Little Witley in Worcestershire on June 21.

He had been clocked by manned camera equipment, the court heard.

Greatrix, of Little Weston, Ludlow, was fined £40 and received three penalty points for the offence, with magistrates saying that they had taken his guilty plea into account when coming to their decision on the penalty.

He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £90 and a £16 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
