AN ENTREPRENEUR from Ludlow has been recognised by a national campaign.

Nicola Twiddy from Ludlow has been crowned one of the UK’s most impressive female entrepreneurs by Small Business Britain’s ‘f:Entrepreneur #IAlso100’ campaign.

Ms Twiddy, who founded sustainable shop Little Twidlets, is being profiled among 100 inspirational female entrepreneurs from across the country as part of the campaign to celebrate the multi-achievements of women running businesses in the UK today.

Little Twidlets started life as an online shop, selling only reusable nappies, before moving to a shop in Ludlow's New Road in 2020, where Ms Twiddy now sells a growing range of sustainable items for the whole family, including toys, stationary, home and kitchen items as well as bath and body products.

The #IAlso100’ line-up showcases trailblazing female founders who lead purpose-driven businesses alongside a roster of other responsibilities, such as volunteering, mentoring and community support. Ms Twiddy also runs a successful childcare business and volunteers in the community, all while being a mum to her six children.

The business-minded mum said she was "so honoured but also a little shocked" to be featured in the campaign.

"It took a while to sink in that I am part of it," she said.

"I have worked hard to build my business up and make it a part of our community so it is such a boost to be recognized."

The campaign aims to raise greater awareness of the impact of incredible female business owners across the country, and help provide inspiration and role models to the wider small business community.

The campaign offers a host of events, training, and networking opportunities to boost skills, capability, and confidence.

Small Business Britain founder Michelle Ovens said: “It is so important that we call out the incredible contribution of women running businesses across the UK. As well as growing economic prosperity across the UK, they are also having a tremendous, wider positive impact on local communities too.

"Despite all of the challenges of recent times, it is fantastic to see female entrepreneurship continuing to grow and flourish in the UK, and we must do all we can to encourage and build this further.”
