A SPEEDER has been fined by magistrates after he was caught breaking the limit in a busy Ludlow road.

Iestyn Ifan Mayers entered a guilty plea to one count of exceeding a 30 miles per hour speed limit to magistrates in Worcester.

The court heard from the prosecutor that the 23-year-old had been caught breaking the limit while behind the wheel of a Ford Transit in a 30 miles per hour zone in Ludlow's Overton Road on May 24.

He had been clocked speeding by manned camera equipment, the magistrates were told.

Mayers, of Worles Common in Stockton, Worcestershire, was fined £266 and received three penalty points for the offence, with magistrates saying that they had taken his guilty plea to the charge into account when coming to their decision on the penalty.

He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £90 and a £106 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
