A SPEEDER has been banned from the roads after he was caught out twice.

Paul Farrar was proven guilty in his absence of one count of exceeding a 40 miles per hour speed limit and one count of exceeding a 30 miles per hour speed limit by magistrates in Sheffield in November.

The court heard that the 54-year-old had been caught speeding while behind the wheel of a Volvo in a 40 miles per hour speed limit on the A616 at Langsett in Barnsley on April 18.

He had been clocked speeding on an automatic camera device, the magistrates were told.

Farrar had also been caught speeding in a 30 miles per hour zone on the A451 Stourbridge Road in Kidderminster on January 15, the court heard, this time by manned camera equipment.

Farrar, of Ashford Carbonel, Ludlow, was fined a total of £80, received six penalty points, and was disqualified from driving for six months due to repeat offending.

He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £110 and a £32 victim surcharge.
