THERE will be an opportunity to create some festive artwork in Ludlow and develop your artistic skills, as an artist has organised a workshop.

Artist Marina Morris is hosting a glass painting class for people to develop their skills, complete with refreshments available throughout the day. All materials will be provided.

You will need to book quickly as there are a limited number of spaces on the workshop.

It will take place at the Mascall Centre on December 9, and bookings can be made by calling 07552761012 or emailing smarger@btinternet.com.

There are morning and afternoon sessions to choose between.

Ms Morris said: "Everything plus festive refreshments along with tea and coffee and also mulled wine is included.

"The classes will paint a lamp. At home they can switch on the battery-operated tea light candle and illuminate their very own festive-designed lamp."

Ms Morris is an award-winning fine artist specialising in seascapes and landscapes, as well as abstract forms, using oil paints and soft pastels, and occasionally ceramic.

Living in Hereford, she is a prominent artist locally and works to support art festivals in Herefordshire and the borders.

She frequently exhibits her work around the UK, as well as producing commissions for clients and organisations from all over the world. A selection of her work has been exhibited in an art show along with Banksy, Ronnie Wood and Jack Vettriano.

She studied art in London and has worked with the Tate Modern and Saatchi.

She used to teach weekly art classes, and now holds one-day workshops for aspiring artists which prove very popular.
