LUDLOW Castle has announced its full line-up of activities for the upcoming Winter Festival.

Taking place from November 24 to November 26, the three-day celebration will include a range of attractions for locals and visitors alike of all ages.

On these days, the castle will exclusively open after-hours to continue the events later into the evenings, until 10pm on the Friday and Saturday and 9pm on the Sunday.

The historic castle ruins will be transformed into a light show, with entertainment from the likes of Macy O, Steady Edd and the Boogiemen, Bella Acapella, Choral Diversity, and the town band. There will be a selection of food and drink to enjoy with favourites from Ludlow Food Festival, like Nixons Farms, Pizza Girls, Le Flip Creperie and Drink Up Coffee.

The Beacon Rooms in the castle will be home to a festive makers' market, for guests to enjoy a spot of Christmas shopping. Exhibitors include Jules Avery, Dizzy Cat, Kirkwood Distillery, Travelling Weaver, Larches Alpaca, Julian Road, Toots Sweets, Apple Teme, Sarah Redland Pottery, Silver King, Bramble Art, and more. There will also be lots of local artists selling prints, cards, Christmas decorations, and more.

Ludlow Castle's general manager Gemma England said: "We're thrilled to continue the legacy of feasting and celebration that has been a part of the castle for centuries. The wider events throughout the town are a fantastic show of community efforts and local businesses."

You can buy all-inclusive tickets via the Ludlow Castle website www.ludlowcastle.com. These are sold by entry time, but once you have entered the castle you can stay for as long as you wish before it closes to enjoy the lights, entertainment, market and food and drink. Tickets for the food and entertainment only may be available at the gate depending on availability and costs for these have not yet been announced.

The castle would like to remind guests that as it is a ruin, people will need to remember suitable clothing and footwear appropriate for uneven ground and steps. Not all areas are accessible for wheelchair users.

The castle also says that no dogs are allowed on the premises apart from assistance dogs.
