PUMPKINS galore were on show in a village just outside Tenbury for Eastham church's Pumpkinfest.

Parishioners gathered on October 15 for the Pumpkinfest and harvest festival service at St Peter's and St Paul's church, part of the Teme Valley South group of churches.

The event included a competition with prizes for the heaviest pumpkin, best display of home-grown vegetables.

The church also held a children's competition, with youngsters asked to create an animal from fruit or vegetables.

The pumpkin competition was won by Colin and Tina Lord, with a whopping 43lb entry.

The winning pumpkin was delivered to the Maggs Day Centre in Worcester.

The organisation provides a lifeline to help the homeless and vulnerable, with centres in both Worcester and Malvern.

The centres offer homeless people a warm, safe place with showers, toilets, someone to speak to, a hot meal five days a week, and clean, dry clothes
