AN INDEPENDENT Shropshire brewery has appointed a new sales director boasting nearly twenty years of experience in the brewing industry.
The move represents a significant milestone as Hobsons Brewery, based in Cleobury Mortimer, continues on its ambitious mission to establish the brand across the UK.
Newly appointed Marc Suffolk, who entered the brewing industry aged 18, has held a range of senior positions at some of the UK’s most notable drinks brands, including Britvic Soft Drinks, Aspall Cyder, Westons Cider, Vocation Brewery, and Brew York.
In his role at Hobsons, Mr Suffolk’s primary responsibility will be getting Hobsons beer onto as many shelves and bar taps as possible.
Mr Suffolk said he is a long-time admirer of Hobsons, with the brewery's Town Crier being his go-to pint after a round of golf, while the build-up to the brewery's 30th birthday celebrations and release of its new Dirty Gertie IPA really piqued his interest.
“From my first meeting at the brewery I’ve been taken aback by the genuine authenticity that goes into everything done here," Mr Suffolk said.
"From the huge sustainability initiative to the support of local suppliers and growers, I am blown away by the skills, experience, and provenance that I see from Tino and his brewing team.
"It’s clear we have some great talent in the team that, with a bit of nurturing, will have very successful commercial careers in this exciting industry.
"I couldn’t be more excited to start putting plans into place with the team and getting pints of Hobsons beer in the hands of more drinkers nationwide, whilst staying true to our routes here in Cleobury Mortimer.”
Hobsons Brewery founder Nick Davies said he was delighted to welcome Mr Suffolk to the team.
"His wealth of experience and passion for the industry, which aligns perfectly with our values," Mr Davis said.
"As we celebrate our third decade of brewing, we are hoping to continue growing our brand's presence across the UK and Marc’s experience is going to be a crucial ingredient for the future of Hobsons. We can’t wait to see what’s around the corner!”
