LUDLOW Castle has won a Trip Advisor Travellers' Choice Award for 2023.
The winners of these awards are chosen based on Trip Advisor reviews from the last 12 months, and are given only to the top 10 per cent of sites around the world.
It's not hard to see why recent reviews have been so positive. It is one of the finest medieval ruins in England, and has remained largely unchanged over the last 400 years.
It was constructed in the eleventh century by Roger and Hugh de Lacy, who were at the time were some of the richest men in England.
Today Ludlow Castle is cared for by the trustees of the Powis Castle Estate working with English Heritage.
