A DRIVER had a miracle escape when their windscreen was impaled by a tractor's seed drill in a freak crash.

Shocking photos show how close the motorist came to being killed when the sharp metal prong speared the window following the three-vehicle smash in Shropshire.

Police from Bishops Castle were called along with other emergency crews to the scene on the A488 at Wagbeach near Minsterley at around 5.10pm on June 7.

The collision involved a tractor pulling trailer, a van with a horsebox and a car and police said it was "very lucky" nobody was seriously injured.

West Mercia Police shared pictures of the damage to the car, which showed the farmyard machine embedded inside the vehicle surrounded by smashed glass.

South Shropshire SNT's tweeted: "SNT from Bishops Castle attended an RTC on the A488 at Wagbeach involving a tractor and agri trailer, van and horsebox and this car.

"No injuries reported drivers were very lucky. Road was closed whilst it was dealt with."
