A LUDLOW driver has escaped a roads ban after failing to tell police who was driving his car when an alleged offence was committed.
Jason Watts entered a guilty plea to one count of failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver when required when he appeared before magistrates in Mold in May.
The court heard from the prosecutor that the 34-year-old had failed to identify the driver of a car, who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence, when required to do so by police in Denbighshire on September 29.
Watts, of Lacy Road, Ludlow, was fined £120 and received six penalty points, with magistrates saying they had taken his guilty plea into account when imposing the penalty.
He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £110 and a £48 victim surcharge.
No totting disqualification was made as, magistrates said, family members who rely on him for transport would suffer exceptional hardship if he was banned from the roads.
