A WOMAN who provides interactive classes for babies, toddlers and the elderly in Ludlow is on the lookout for more people to join her team.
Zoe Moore, franchisee of Jiggy Wrigglers Ludlow, Kidderminster and Bridgnorth, stepped away from her job of more than 15 years to launch her own business.
Although she faced the challenges of the pandemic and an uncertain few years, she now works with the young and old to provide incredible experiences.
Ms Moore worked in the fitness industry as an instructor and sales manager but when she returned after her maternity leave, she knew that she wanted a career that she could work around her two children.
“I went to Jiggy’s with my own children and one of my best friend’s and her daughter and we just loved everything about it,” she said.
“We loved how flexible it was, you could just pay as you go, we loved how interactive it was for the children but to be honest, we also loved being given a cup of tea and having the chance to chat while our children were having fun.
"I was still in my full-time role and speaking to my friend about wanting to change career paths and she believed that I could do the Jiggy’s role.
"I didn’t know anything about franchising but after lots of conversations with the founder Katie, I felt confident that with her full support and guidance and by following the systems, I could make the business work.”
Although Ms Moore launched the business in 2019, she ran just one class a week for 12 months while continuing to work at the gym.
She soon realised that this was the career path for her, so gave in her notice to concentrate on running Jiggy’s full time.
“However, this was in March 2020 and the next day, a full lockdown was announced,” said Ms Moore.
“Although financially it was very tough, I was determined to make the business work and did everything I could on social media to boost my online presence. I believe it made me a stronger and more confident leader and as soon as we were allowed, I hired a large rugby field and held Jiggy’s classes outside.
"When lockdown two happened, we were told we could run classes for under one’s, so I opened my first baby classes and have never looked back.
"Lockdown made me face up to very challenging situations, but I believe that it also pushed me to step outside my comfort zone, which ultimately helped me grow the business.”
Jiggy Wrigglers offer dance and movement groups with an engaging combination of music, dance and creative activities to stimulate young brains and ignite imagination.
The sessions are just as much for the adults as they are for the children, providing a social meetup for grownups too. The age range is from under one up to five and there are mixed age groups for families wishing to attend together.
Ms Moore now has two leaders delivering sessions, with the business expanding to provide classes in nursery schools, as well as nursing homes with Jiggy Vintage, an interactive music and movement programme.
“If you asked me five years ago if I would be doing something like this, I would never have believed you," said Ms Moore.
"But this role has totally grown my confidence and just makes me happy while having a financially rewarding career.
"My daughter is now eight and my son is five and I get to take them to school and pick them up every day, which was one of the reasons why I initially wanted to leave the gym.
"I never have to miss a nativity or sports day again because I can plan my work around them. This is not a 9-5 job, you get to choose the hours you work and although I’m very focussed on growth, I can still work around my family’s needs.”
Looking to the future, Ms Moore plans to keep on growing and offering more sessions for local children and their families as well as elderly people.
“I’m looking to take on my third leader and this year I want to focus on getting into even more pre-schools and nursing homes,” she said.
“There are lots of opportunities that I can explore and even more classes that I can offer to satisfy the demand and allow more people to enjoy the Jiggy Wrigglers experience.”
