RUNNERS up and down the country are now deep into training for the London Marathon in April.
The event takes place on Sunday, April 23 when thousands of runners ranging from the world’s elite athletes to those out for ‘long’ fun run to raise money for charity.
One of those taking part will be Nick Young, from Ludlow Runners.
Mr Young will be raising money for Hands Together Ludlow, the charity that supports the community in and around the town.
On the day of the Marathon, Mr Young will be aged 68 years and 10 days, so it is a challenge for the man who was a dentist to get his teeth into. He worked in the NHS and then for the military, retiring in 2015 with the rank of brigadier from his position as chief dental officer to HM forces.
Mr Young who was born in Kidderminster and went to Birmingham University was Honorary Dental Surgeon to the late Queen Elizabeth II.
