PEOPLE in Tenbury are being urged to check out learning opportunities on their doorstep, some of which could help people to have better job prospects.

Worcestershire residents looking to make a worthwhile resolution are being encouraged to take up an adult learning course from Worcestershire County Council.

The council’s Learning Services Worcestershire have launched their 2023 Adult Learning programmes which include a range of courses designed to boost employment prospects, help people to learn new skills, develop those they may have, and to meet new people.

They have a range of courses, aimed at adults across Worcestershire on offer. Courses include those that fit into categories such as art and craft, health and wellbeing, English for Speakers of Other Languages, community learning, digital skills including computing and IT, plus free government-backed numeracy courses. Also included are courses aimed at helping people tackle the current cost-of-living situation, with learners shown how ‘smart’ devices can help them balance budgets or save money.

All courses take place in easy to access venues, such as Worcestershire libraries or their dedicated Fairfield Learning Centre in Warndon.

“A lot of adults across the county may be looking to upskill or to try something new this year and education doesn’t have to end because you’ve finished school, college, or university,” said Anna Lee, Learning Services Manager at Worcestershire County Council.
