LUDLOW will resume its prospecting for gold next year.

The towns run of gold medals in the ‘Heart of England in Bloom’ wilted this year when organiser Vivienne Parry broke her leg in a fall at home earlier in the year.

This resulted in a spell in hospital and Mrs Parry, head of the town’s ‘in bloom’ group, decided that she would not be able to accompany the judges, who were inked in to come to Ludlow in July.

Attempt to find someone else to take them around the town was unsuccessful and there was no choice but to pull out of the competition.

But Mrs Parry says that the intention is to enter in 2023 and work is already underway with the planning.

Meanwhile winter cutting back is underway to clear the way for new plants to brighten up the town in 2023.
