PEOPLE in Ludlow will again be able to shine a light to remember a loved one who is no longer with us this Christmas.
Ludlow Rotary Club will again be illuminated a ‘tree of light ‘in the town centre.
The Ludlow Rotary Club Tree of Light will again be giving people a special way of remembering loved ones that are no longer around.
A Tree of Light organised by the town's Rotarians has been part of the Ludlow Christmas for more than a decade.
It gives the town a double whammy of festive trees.
Last year the tree had a new set of lights shining next to Ludlow Castle and raised £600 to help boost the funds of two charities in the town
Ludlow mayor at the beginning of the year, Robin Pote, received £450 on behalf of Ludlow Young Health, which was charity during his mayoral year and councillor Erica Garner, a trustee of Hands Together Ludlow, received a cheque for £150.
This money, £600, was raised through the generosity of Ludlow Rotary Tree of Light supporters who dug deep again despite the rising cost of living.
The fundraising was again supported by the staff of Nock Deighton’s office, Ludlow Town Council, The Feathers Hotel, St Laurence’s Church and the Methodist Chapel.
