LUDLOW has been chosen for the launch of a new book with rock music at its heart.

It is the latest book from Suzan Holder, wife of the former Slade front man Noddy Holder.

Slade was one of the most successful bands of the 1970’s with six number one’s in the UK singles chart.

Suzan Holder, is an author published by HarperCollins and will be coming to the Castle Bookshop in Ludlow early in September to launch her latest novel.

“My two books are ‘rock ‘n’ roll rom-coms’ inspired by my love for music and based on some of my own crazy experiences,” she said.

“I will be telling the stories behind both books at The Castle Bookshop in Ludlow, 6pm on Friday, September 2.

She is married to Noddy Holder and says that music is a big part of her life.

“My first book, Shake It Up, Beverley, is about a Liverpool mum who is a massive Beatles fan and collector.

“Paul McCartney himself told me he thought it sounded ‘Fab’ and asked me for a copy of the book when I met up with him last week!

“My new book, Rock ‘n’ Rose, will be published on September 1, so Ludlow will be where I launch it.

“The story is set in Memphis about a young girl who is trying to solve a mysterious family connection to Elvis Presley.

“I’m a Midlands girl, from Halesowen originally and lived in Bewdley for a while. My dad now lives in Stourport so Ludlow is somewhere we have often visited as a family.

“I’m really excited to be launching my new book in Ludlow. They tell me the event will be held in their ‘secret garden’ which sounds fabulous. I’m looking forward to a fun night entertaining people with my crazy, rock n’ roll stories.”

Tickets for the event at the bookshop are priced £5 and are available by calling the shop 01584 872562, popping into the shop on Castle Street or emailing castlebookshop@btconnect.com.
