PEOPLE living in Bishops Castle are just two weeks away from having the chance to tell the leader of Shropshire Council about their concerns and priorities.

Lezley Picton, Leader of Shropshire Council, is to host a Meet the Leader session in Bishops Castle next month.

The leader of the Council will be at Bishop’s Castle Town Hall on Wednesday, July 13 from 10am until 12pm.

Everyone is welcome to come along to this event and sit down with her to share their ideas to help make Shropshire an even better place.

“I am looking forward to my visit to Bishops Castle to hear about the things that really matter to you.

“If you can, please make sure that you come along to meet me. In return, I promise to listen, and anything I can’t answer I will write down and make sure that it’s actioned as appropriate.

“I look forward to seeing you there.”

Slots during Ms Picton’s Meet the Leader event will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The visit to Bishops Castle follows a series of Meet the Leader events which have so far taken place in Ludlow, Ellesmere and Market Drayton.

There are a range of issues likely to be discuss, one of which is almost certain to the the future of Bishops Castle Community Hospital that is currently closed.

Other concerns can be expected to include the need for more affordable housing as well as access to public transport and rocketing fuel costs.
