A VILLAGE near Ludlow marked the Platinum Jubilee with flowers, music and Pimms.
It was colour and fragrance with a Royal theme took centre stage in Orleton.
The theme of the displays were the Royal Palaces up and down the land.
People were able to visit St George’s Church throughout all four days of the Jubilee holiday, with the culmination coming on the Sunday afternoon with Pimms followed by a ‘songs of praise’ led by the Rev James Forester, a retired vicar in the village.
The event also gave some people who have lived through the reign of Queen Elizabeth II a chance to look back on the past 70 years.
It was a weekend of celebration and nostalgia although the weather was less than regal with lots of rain.
