THE road to gold can be a rocky one with many obstacles in the way.

This is true every year for the Ludlow in Bloom group and perhaps it’s been even more so in 2022, as the Heart of England in Bloom competition returns to its normal format.

Two years ago, it did not happen because to Covid-19 and last year towns had to submit a folder with no visit from judges.

This year is seeing a return to judges visits and volunteers have made an entry possible.

Vivienne Parry, who leads the ‘in boom’ group, is recovering from a broken leg and has had to limit what she can do with watering duties ruled out but others have stepped in and so hopes for another gold come September, remain high.
