THERE is a vacancy on Ludlow Town Council following the resignation of Andy Boddington.
Mr Boddington joined the Town Council a year ago.
He has cited health issues as the reason for his stepping down.
But Mt Boddington plans to continue as a Liberal Democrat member of Shropshire on which he represents Ludlow North which covers the town centre.
Glen Ginger has been elected as the new Mayor of Ludlow, replacing Robin Pote, who held the position for a year.
Mr Ginger runs a business in the town.
It has proven to be difficult to get people to stand for the Town Council despite a number of attempts to get residents of Ludlow interested.
Residents in Gallows Bank have until the end of May to request an election
At least 10 must contact the returning officer at Shirehall in Shrewsbury, otherwise the Council can try to co-opt someone onto the authority
