THE local elections are over, but the hypocrisy, lies and general incompetence of the Tory party and UK Government are as prolific as ever.
Fortunately, The National is here to bring you all the latest on Boris Johnson's sleaze-riddled government and Unionist attempts to block Scotland's democratic right to indyref2, breaking down just how bad they really are on a daily basis.
And now Scotland's pro-independence newspaper is offering you a FREE 30-day free trial to The National's digital premium plus subscription.
With a huge triumph for the SNP at the local council elections, a win for Sinn Fein in Northern Ireland and a second indyref on the horizon, the UK as we know it is on the brink.
That's why now is the perfect time to join The National family as Scotland's only independence-supporting paper.
If Tory travesties (and there are a lot) don't spark your interest, join us for the very best of Scottish culture, as we explore the history, art and music of the country we all love.
Boris and his cronies may not be doing anything to help the cost of living crisis but at The National we want to help you access quality journalism for less.
By taking out our 30-day free trial, you will save over 20% on the annual fee.
You'll have an advert-light experience on our website and have unlimited access to all our stories, including premium articles.
You’ll also have access to our daily digital edition, a digital replica of the newspaper, including the Sunday National. Plus, free access to the Scottish Gardener, Scottish Mountaineer and Scottish Walks and Cycling magazines.

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
