LUDLOW has a reputation for good food and fine dining, it also has an active food network which includes organisations such a Slow Food, Fairtrade, Incredible Edibles and local food businesses.

This network provides a forum for food issues and Hands Together Ludlow wants to build on this by taking a fully rounded view on food production, preparation and waste reduction. Hands Together is currently leading the way in the town by building networks with local food suppliers to reduce food waste in the town.

Its long term strategy is to reduce food waste and alleviate food poverty in Ludlow. There a longstanding arrangement to collect surplus food from Tesco and Aldi, and the new Sainsbury’s is providing more opportunities to collect and distribute surplus food.

It also has arrangements with other local businesses that donate on an adhoc basis.

Contact Di Garrini at di.garrini@handstogetherludlow.org.uk if you have surplus food to donate or you know of an organisation that would benefit from it.
