DOGS and cats at two local animal shelters are set to receive some festive treats thanks to a Ludlow optician.
Specsavers is appealing for donations of shoeboxes filled with smaller pet related items including, toys, treats and food. Larger items such as blankets can be donated separately as well as smaller items individually if preferred. The gifts will then be donated to Worcestershire Animal Rescue Shelter and 9 Lives Rescue.
“As a team, we’re really passionate about supporting animal charities and we wanted to do something to help in the lead up to Christmas,’ says Julia Marriott, in-store trainer at Specsavers Ludlow. ‘I’ve had my own rescue dog, Max, for two and a half years now and I wouldn’t be without him, so I know how important rescue centres are to help try and find animals their forever homes.
“If you’d like to drop something off that can be used to fill a shoebox, you can do so in store until Sunday, December 19.
