WORK is progressing on the new Sainsbury supermarket on the outskirts of Ludlow.
It tool many years for the process of securing planning permission and then finding an operator to be completed but recent weeks and months have seen rapid progress with the building.
Sainsbury said that it hoped that the new store at Rocks Green will be open before Christmas and late autumn has been reported as a possibility.
The supermarket will also include an Argos outlet that is now owned by the supermarket chain.
Traders in Ludlow have expressed concern about how the new store may damage business, especially at a difficult time as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and increasing on-line shopping.
