THE sun was shining on Orleton as, around the village, people dusted off their gazebos and classic cars and inflated their bouncy castles, perhaps for the first time since lockdown, and put their creative, culinary and organisational skills to good use in support of Orleton’s village festival.
Orleton festival was hosted at The Maidenhead, Village Hall, Rec, Methodist Chapel, St George’s and The Boot. Much fun was had by all, whether revving engines, parading dogs, following the treasure hunt, trying out craft activities, painting faces, decorating bug boxes, splatting rats, guessing the weight of a well-behaved Ryeland sheep, or washing it all down with a hot dog, or tea and cake, or a pint.
