TENBURY Wells CC suffered their first defeat of the Worcestershire League season but still remain top of Division Eight West.
Their cushion was cut to 35 points by a four-wicket defeat to Chaddesley Corbett thirds, who won with 167-6 in reply to Tenbury’s 166-7, in which Ellis Yates (49) and Tom Rawlings (45) top-scored.
Cleobury Mortimer (215-6) moved back into the Division Seven promotion places with an 89-run win at Rushwick seconds (126).
In the Shropshire Premier, Ludlow slipped to seventh with a three-wicket defeat at Quatt.
Jason Oakes hit 87 as Ludlow posted 180-6 but Quatt got home at 181-7 despite fine bowling from Luke Miles (3-23) and Jack Condliffe (3-57).
In Division Two, Ludlow seconds won a thriller by seven runs against Chelmarsh as Matthew Hawes hit 56 in the hosts’ 229-7 and David Northwood (4-39) helped limit the visitors’ reply to 222-9.
Bishops Castle collapsed in Division Four, all out for 85, as visitors Broseley cantered home at 86-2 despite Simon Palmer’s 2-17.
Church Stretton continued their resurgence in Division Six, Sajid Muneer’s 3-4 seeing off Much Wenlock for 110 all out as the hosts defended 148 with Saif Khalid (42) top-scoring.
In the Marches League Division Two, Knighton-on-Teme’s 147 – led by John Griffiths (45) and Jack Kitchen (40) was not enough as Canon Frome strolled to victory at 149-2.
