TRAIN enthusiasts were thrilled as they got the chance to see an iconic steam engine pass through Shropshire.
Heading south through Shropshire was 46100 Royal Scot.
Originally built in 1927, Royal Scot was the flagship engine of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS).
The steam-hauled service was going from Wigan to Cardiff on Wednesday, August 11, returning along the same route later.
The return journey will see the iconic train stop at Hereford for 55 minutes at 4.40pm.
It passes through Leominster at 5.50pm, Ludlow shortly after 6pm and Church Stretton at 6.25pm, arriving in Wigan at 10.11pm.
