TENBURY Wells kept up their table-topping start to the season by blitzing Bewdley at the weekend.
Alfie Watts (2-11) and Rob Farrar (2-15) helped limit Bewdley to 126, a target Tenbury passed inside 19 overs at 128-4 thanks to Andrew Adams (36) and Tom Rawlings (29no).
They remain unbeaten at the top of Worcestershire League Division Eight West with eight wins, and two abandonments, from 10 games.
Cleobury also stay at the summit of Division Seven despite their game with Cookley being rained off.
In the Shropshire League, Ludlow suffered a fourth defeat in five games as a poor batting display led to a three-wicket defeat at home to Newport.
Jason Oakes (27) top-scored as Ludlow were skittled for 103 and he also took 3-28 with the ball but Newport crept home at 104-7 despite Joe Williams (3-16) also impressing in the hosts’ attack.
In Division Four, Bishops Castle (150) fell 30 runs short in their chase at Trysull and Seisdon (180-4) as their lower order collapsed after Thomas Moulder (64) and Jonathan Price (37) started well.
Church Stretton’s Division Five match with Whitchurch and Corvedale’s Division Six game with Quayside fell to the weather.
In the Marches League, Knighton-on-Teme (127) beat Colwall (100) in Division Two as Matthew James (3-20) and John Griffiths (3-31) impressed.
