NEW ‘Starting Family History’ webinars, taking place in June and July, provide an ideal starting point for anyone in Tenbury looking to discover the basics of genealogy and build their own family tree.
Experts from the Worcestershire Archives and Archaeology Service team will introduce attendees to key online genealogy resources such as Ancestry and Find My Past that are available free to use for public library customers.
They will demonstrate search techniques to enable people to get the most from Census records, Civil Registration (births/marriages/deaths), Parish Registers, school and military records and much more.
Paul Hudson, Learning & Outreach Manager, Worcestershire Archive & Archaeology Service, said: "Family history is fascinating but often people don't know where to start. Our free, online webinars which ran during lockdown were incredibly popular.”
Tickets for the webinars cost £5 and can be booked via www.explorethepast.co.uk/events
