SHROPSHIRE Council has made it easier for people to access symptom-free testing, either in person or at home.

From Tuesday, all council-run testing sites started to offer Lateral Flow Tests as a walk-in service, meaning people can get their speedy test without an appointment.

These tests can be easily taken at home and involve using a special swab on a stick to take a sample from the nose and the back of the throat

Council-run symptom-free testing centres in south Shropshire are located at: Halo, Craven Arms Community Centre, Newington Way, Craven Arms, Mondays – 11.30am-7.30pm, Tuesdays – 8am-4pm, Fridays – 8am -4pm and Sundays – 9am-3pm.

“Our aim is easier for people to get access to rapid testing,” said Rachel Robinson, Shropshire’s director of public health.

“Testing is, and will remain, one of the crucial factors in reducing transmission and beating this virus, along with the vaccination programme, as well as us all continuing to follow social distancing guidelines.”
