LUDLOW MP Philip Dunne has had his first Covid-19 vaccination.

Although Mr Dunne is not yet in the priority category by age, he has a condition that caused him to have the shield.

The MP and former health minister has expressed his thanks to all helping deliver this ‘extraordinary effort in getting people vaccinated right across south Shropshire.’

Mr Dunne, who had been forced to shield during the pandemic due to a longstanding medical condition, received his vaccination at Ludlow Hospital, as part of the clinically extremely vulnerable cohort.

He offered his sincere thanks to all those helping to roll out the vaccine programme in south Shropshire, as well as those who are going the extra mile to support health staff, including volunteers at Ludlow racecourse offering vaccinators teas and coffees.

“Having had to shield during this awful pandemic, I share in the immense relief felt by all those who have received the vaccine,” he said.
