THE Covid testing centre on Ludlow’s Smithfield car park has successfully opened.

It is available for people who have Covid-19 symptoms or believe that they may have been exposed to the virus.

The main things to look out for are a temperature, continuous dry cough and a loss of taste or smell although this is not a full list and some people will have other symptoms including a problem with the digestive system.

“The mobile testing site moves around the county depending on the demand,” said Rachel Robinson, Shropshire’s director of public health.

“The advantage of this system is that it gives us the option to move the testing sites around the borough on a roving basis to communities and areas where it may be more difficult for people to get tested."

The test is free. Tests can be booked online at www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or by calling 119. People can use the option of “my council has asked me to book a test” if they have the less common symptoms.
