PHILIP Dunne MP for Ludlow has welcomed a £300m package of funding for major spectator sports to protect their immediate futures over the winter.
The Sports Winter Survival Package will provide loans to support sports impacted by coronavirus, from national governing bodies down to local clubs, seeing them through the most difficult winter period.
Sports to benefit include rugby union, horse racing, women’s football and the lower tiers of the National League, rugby League, motorsport, tennis, netball, basketball, ice hockey, and badminton. The funding process will be overseen by an independent decision-making board and supported by Sport England.
