THE Tenbury and Ludlow area is set to lose one of its great champions and characters.

Paddy Brennan founded the Tenbury Boxing Club and the Bluestone Centre.

His organisation holds a Queen’s Award for its community work especially with disadvantaged young people. His boxers have taken the name of Tenbury far and wide.

Mr Brennan, a former international boxer, has been determined to help young people, especially those who have not drawn the best of hands in the game of chance that is life.

He has drawn upon his own early experiences and believes that people who get in trouble are often not bad people but have been let down by society.

Planning permission has been given to build a ‘holiday park’ of chalets on his land at Bleathwood that will bring jobs and money to the local area.

He has exciting plans to continue his work with young people and boxing activities.

Although details have not been resolved it may not be too far away but is unlikely to be in the immediate Tenbury or Ludlow area.
