When you are three years old the world can seem a very big place and so can a sunflower.

This was especially the case for Ben Macleod, the little boy who won the Ludlow in Bloom competition for the largest sunflower.

The Ludlow in Bloom lockdown gardening competition was judged this year on the basis of submitted photographs.

There were a number of different categories.

Richard Bissell of Clee view won both the best small garden and best hanging basket competition.

The best new garden accolade went to Charlotte and Jimmy MacDonald who live in Friars Walk.

Best vegetable, a red cabbage, was won by Penelope Bridstrup who lives in Lower Broad Street.

There was also a prize for the Best Unusual Garden that went to David and Valerie Jackson from Ashford Carbonel.

It is hoped that normal service can be resumed again in 2021
