Stourbridge Rugby enjoyed a great day of Touch Rugby, with eleven teams from across all sections of the Club playing against one another.

It was no mean feat organising this with the current restrictions on social gatherings and Rugby training, but the Minis & Juniors Chairman, Chris Roe and his team brought together a brilliant event last Sunday,

To begin with, fun games of 10-a-side Touch Rugby were played on all 4 pitches, with the Girls taking on the First XV, the Women's team playing the Lions XV, a mixed bag of Coaches (The Barbarians) taking on the Colts. It was a real mix of matches that wouldn't ordinarily be able to take place with the full-contact game.

Later, the Senior teams played for the COVID Cup, in which the First XV (and predictably) finished as the overall Club Champions!

It really was a fantastic day that lifted everyone's spirits in very difficult times.

If you've thought about taking up Rugby, now may be the best time to ease your way into it. As there's no contact at the moment, it's a great way to stay fit and make new friends. Visit the website at www.stourbridgerugby.com for more details.
